Dr. Wendy has been evolving her Creativity Workshops since 2002 and has reimagined and presented them to participants in Asia, Africa, and the Americas. ‘Knowledge flows down – Surprises flow up’. Maria Montessori realized that without honoring that ineluctable fluency, children would become prisoners of an obsolete agenda. She saw youth as a sacred element, pushing tender margins of the present towards untold futures; our task as educators – to strengthen, encourage, empower, nurture that growth. Montessori regularly reminded us that her ‘method’ was the property of the universe – cyclical, emergent, and improvisational. Through somatic, cooperative, inventive learning we explore themes of storytelling, the potency of metaphor, nature immersion, and origins of culture and the arts in a Montessori context. Students are encouraged to bring their ideas, queries, and inspirations into seminar to strengthen their power of inquiry, collaboration, community, and creativity.
