The Creativity in Montessori
Dr. Wendy has been evolving her Creativity Workshops since 2002 and has reimagined and presented them to participants in Asia, Africa, and the Americas.
‘Knowledge flows down – Surprises flow up’. Maria Montessori realized that without honoring that ineluctable fluency, children would become prisoners of an obsolete agenda. She saw youth as a sacred element, pushing tender margins of the present
towards untold futures; our task as educators – to strengthen, encourage, empower, nurture that growth. Montessori regularly reminded us that her ‘method’ was the property of the universe – cyclical, emergent, and improvisational. Through somatic,
cooperative, inventive learning we explore themes of storytelling, the potency of metaphor, nature immersion, and origins of culture and the arts in a Montessori context.
Students are encouraged to bring their ideas, queries, and inspirations into seminar to strengthen their power of inquiry, collaboration, community, and creativity.
